Guaranteed Wait List Information

Eligibility and Deadlines

Prioirty for Guaranteed Wait List applicants will be given to those current CUA Rising Sophomores who participated in the Sophomore Lottery, but were unable to select a room because no spaces were available when their lottery number became active.  The Guaranteed Wait List Application is due to HS by April 4, 2008 in order to honor priority consideration.

If you are a student that is required to live on campus as a second year student, and you did not participate in the Sophomore Lottery, please submit your $500 Housing Prepayment and Wait List Application to HS by May 2, 2008.

Considerations

Once you submit your Guaranteed Wait List Application, please keep in mind the following:

  • You are guaranteed an assignment for the 2008-2009 academic year.
  • If you have not already done so, you will be required to sign your Residence Hall and Dining Services Agreement at the time you submit the Guaranteed Wait List Application.
  • In order to be assigned a space, a housing prepayment of $500 should be on your student account.
  • Should you wish to cancel your Guaranteed Wait List Application, you will need to do so in accordance with the cancellation policy listed on your Agreement; you will be charged the $500 Housing Cancellation Fee.*
  • Priority for your Wait List Application will be determined by the Lottery Number that you were assigned for the Room Selection Process if you submit the form by April 4.  If you did not receive a lottery number and are a rising Sophomore, your priority will be based upon the date Housing Services receives the application.
  • If you will be entering your third year as a student and did not participate in the lottery, you are eligible for the Non-Guaranteed Wait List.
  • An assignment will be made for you using the preferences listed on you application. However, while you are guaranteed an assignment, it is possible that assignment may not be within your preferences.
  • You will be formally notified of your assignment by mid-July 2008.

*In accordance with university policy, all first and second year students are required to live on campus.  Any second year student returning to The Catholic University of America is unable to cancel their Guaranteed Waitlist Application.
