Non-Guaranteed Waitlist Information
The university requires all freshman and sophomore undergraduate students to live in campus housing. As is the case on most residential campuses, on-campus housing for junior and senior students is not automatically guaranteed. During the Spring semester, a lottery is conducted where interested junior and senior students may select housing from available rooms for the next academic year. Housing Services (HS) also offers guidance to upperclassmen seeking off-campus residence.
Eligibility
Participants in the Junior/Senior Lottery who were not able to select a space or eligible participants who did not submit their Intent Form and housing prepayment by the deadline are eligible for the Non-Guaranteed Wait List; however, an assignment is not guaranteed.
Deadlines
The deadline to submit your Non-Guaranteed Wait List Application is March 25, 2008. The Application will be available after the Jr/Sr Lottery process is complete and should be submitted to HS.
Specifics
Undergraduate students who are not guaranteed housing, but do want to live on campus next year should keep in mind the following:
-
First-time Freshman and rising Sophmores are required to live on-campus and will be assigned spaces before other students.
-
Eligibility for the Non-Guaranteed Wait List is based upon submission of the Non-guaranteed Wait List Application. This Application should be received by March 25, 2008 for priority by lottery number; those received after March 25th and before May 2nd will be prioitized by date received.
-
In order to be offered a space, a housing prepayment of $500 should be on your student account. Should you decide to withdraw your Wait List Application before an assignment has been made, you may request a refund of the deposit.
-
-
An assignment will be made using the preferences listed on the Application. However, it is possible that an assignment may not be available within those preferences. Students will receive 3 business days in which to accept the offered space. If they do not accept the space offered, they will have the opportunity to receive a second offer when another space becomes available. If they decline the second offer, they will be removed from the Wait List.
-
Should you wish to cancel your assignment, you will need to do so in accordance with the cancellation policy listed on your Agreement; you will be charged the $500 Housing Cancellation Fee.
-
Throughout the summer assignments will be made on a space available basis and students are not guaranteed a space. HS has provided additional resources regarding off campus housing resources.
-
Undergraduate students who were not eligible to participate in Room Selection should submit the Residence Hall and Dining Services Application and the $500 housing deposit to HS. Should a space become available after students on the Guaranteed Wait List and Non-Guaranteed Wait List have been assigned, you will be assigned a space based upon the date your application was received.
