Summer Housing ends on August 10^that noon; however, students that are Summer residents until August 10^th that also have confirmed Fall assignments are permitted to request continuous stay until the halls open for the Fall semester on August 23^rd.  To help facilitate a seamless transition for students, Housing Services will offer students the option to remain in housing or store their belongings in their Fall assignment.  Unfortunately due to the needs to transition the halls for Fall residents, students will not be able to store their belongings in their Summer Assignment.

Eligibility

A student is eligible for the Fall Transition period only if he/she has both a Summer assignment ending on August 10^th and a confirmed Fall assignment.  The rate will be $350 for the transitional period.  Occupying a space includes, but is not limited to, physically dwelling in the space, retaining keys to the space, or maintaining belongings in the space.

Expectations

Services including, but not limited to, regular custodial services, residence hall offices, residential networking, mail delivery, and voice mail may not be fully available during the transitional period. Residents who are permitted to use alternate arrival dates should also be aware that work being done in the facilities may create temporary inconveniences.  Residents permitted on campus during times outside of the contract period may not allow others who have not been previously authorized, including guests and roommmate(s), to occupy residence hall space. Unapproved individuals will be asked to leave the building and may be billed for dates in residence. All rules and regulations are applicable during times outside of the contract period.

Move to Fall Assignment

Movement into the Fall assignment will be based upon when the space is available.  It is difficult to predict when assignments will be ready for Fall occupancy; therefore, the student will need to be on campus to move his/her belongings as the space becomes available.  If a student is planning to only store belongings in the space, he/she would need to remain on campus until the Fall assignment is available before moving the belongings and leaving campus.  Unfortunately, Housing Services is generally not able to assist residents with the movement between assignments.

Request Process

In order to be considered for Fall Transition Housing, students should submit their request via email to Housing Services for approval.  Requests will be reviewed on a space-available basis beginning July 15^th; students will receive a response after the request has been reviewed.  Students who are approved for the Fall Transition period will receive further details at this time.
