Welcome to the Housing Services Off-Campus Housing Resource Center.  Whether you are new to CUA and the Washington, DC area or you are a current CUA student who is making the decision to live off-campus, searching for an apartment can seem like a daunting task.  To assist you with this process we have compiled a list of resources below including topics such as CUA Resources, Apartment Searches, Fire Safety, Furniture Rentals, Local Government, Personal Safety, Renter's Insurance, Transportation, Utilities, and Sites of Interest around DC.  Please note that off-campus listings and outside websites/companies are not endorsed by CUA.  Good luck in your search and welcome to the neighborhood!

Getting Started

Renting an apartment for the first time is pretty exciting.  There are many things to consider from the time you decide to move on your own, all the way to the day you pick up the keys to your new place.

When looking for an apartment you should ask yourself the following questions:

Where do I want to live?

How long do I need to live in this new place?

How much can I afford to pay for rent?

How much/what type of space do I need?

What kinds of amenities are important to me?

Do I need/want a roommate?
