Types of Properties

Private homeowners rent out spaces in thier homes.  They may rent out a room with shared community areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and living room.  They may or may not have laundry rooms available.  There are also homes that offer full basements for rent.

Apartment

Apartments vary in size ranging from a studio up to three bedrooms. 

Although studion apartments vary, they are generally one big space, usually without defining seperation or partition except for the bathroom area.  It is often left up to the renter to define the space such as: sleeping area/closet area/common area, ect.

Other apartment options offer a more defined space including one to three bedrooms. seperated kitchen and living/dining room space.

There are also roommate style apartments.  This style is designed to allow roommates to have thier own space separate from each other.  Usually the common areas such as the kitchen and living/dining areas are located between the bedrooms. 

Apartment communities vary in size. They can consist of one big building, a group of buildings, or even one small building with only a few apartments.
