The Catholic University of America

Waitlist Information

The university requires all first-year and sophomore undergraduate students to live in campus housing. As is the case on most residential campuses, on-campus housing for junior and senior students is not automatically guaranteed. Housing Services (HS) also offers guidance to upperclassmen seeking off-campus residence. More information regarding additional housing options will be available as the Room Selection Process progresses.

Junior/Senior Waitlist

Eligibility

Participants in the junior/senior lottery who were not able to select a space or eligible upperclass students who did not submit their intent and housing deposit by the deadline are eligible for the Junior/Senior Waitlist.

Availability

Students who did not submit their intent and housing deposit by the February 11, 2011 deadline should complete the Residence Hall and Dining Services Application. The signed copy should be returned to Housing Services. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning Monday, February 14, 2011.

Students who submitted their intent and housing deposit by the February 11, 2011 deadline will be contacted at the conclusion of the junior/senior lottery if a space has not been selected to determine interest in being placed on the Junior/Senior Waitlist.

Additional Information

Undergraduate junior and senior students who are on the waitlist, should keep in mind the following:

  • First-year students and rising sophomores are required to live on-campus and will be assigned spaces before other students.
  • First priority will be given to students who submitted the intent form and housing deposit by February 11, 2011, and were not able to select a space in the lottery. These students will be prioritized by lottery number.
  • Students who were not issued a lottery number will be prioritized after students that participated in the lottery. These students will be prioritized by the date the Residence Hall and Dining Services Application is received by Housing Services.
  • An assignment will be made using the preferences listed on the Application. However, it is possible that an assignment may not be available within those preferences. Students will receive 3 business days in which to accept the offered space. If they do not accept the space offered, they will have the opportunity to receive a second offer when another space becomes available. If they decline the second offer, they will be removed from the waitlist.
  • Should you wish to cancel your assignment, you will need to do so in accordance with the cancellation policy in the Agreement; you will be charged the $500 Housing Cancellation Fee.
  • Throughout the late spring and summer, assignments will be made on a space available basis. HS will provide additional resources regarding off-campus housing support.
